Biography
Born and raised in Ohio, Abby relocated to CO after graduating from Ohio University in 2010. She only minored in fine art, fearful of a "starving artist" life of instability, but 12 years later she found herself yearning to embrace the possibility that she was meant to try, regardless of the struggle it might entail.
Abby's colorful acrylic paintings are most inspired by land, air, water, animals and the existential inspiration they activate within. She hopes her paintings invite a playfulness for a viewer's visual perception; encouraging one to imagine this world as we individually see it, differently. For instance, frogs see color in the dark and birds can see UV light. We humans cannot do these things, but we do see color and we know UV light exists, so with that we can at least imagine a different experience. Abby believes this can help us with the ability to empathize and unify in a world where we're so often doubting, fearful of and fighting the validity of perspectives that differ from our own.
