George Tocquigny

Board Vice President & Treasurer

With a compact digital camera in hand, George and his wife began their international travels with a trip to Italy around 2005, arranged solely by his wife. The magic of driving around Tuscany and creating memories with that small camera gave George and Karen just the spark they needed to travel somewhere outside the US in every year since, including ‘20 and ‘21, the pandemic years. Retirement from 40 years in corporate sales and marketing around the US in 2013 unleashed new travel opportunities, along with improved camera gear and post-processing training. Then, in 2022, George met a gentleman with a new small gallery in Castle Rock who had also recently founded the Castle Rock Artist Alliance. Through his thoughtful guidance and encouragement, George began exhibiting his large format landscape photos of hilltop villages among the vineyards from Italy and France, which eventually expanded to include all of the Mediterranean countries. Then in 2023, a 50th anniversary safari trip to 3 African countries gave George his first opportunity to photograph wildlife! Through his travel photography, George hopes to encourage more people to travel, and especially to get out in the countryside of these beautiful countries, where immersing yourself in their culture comes easy.
