Biography
Self-taught artist, Andy Pelster, returned to fine art with a renewed interest in 2019 after an education in technical drafting and a nearly thirty-year career in bridge design. Working from his home studio near Parker, Colorado, he continues to work in structural design full-time while drawing part-time.
Raised on a cattle ranch in southeastern Colorado, his works celebrate ranch life and those who feed the world while preserving the West’s quickly vanishing open spaces. Authenticity and realism are the driving force behind his highly detailed drawings, and he strives for an image reminiscent of a gelatin silver photographic print with a nostalgic but timeless quality.
Andy has exhibited in juried shows in Colorado and Wyoming at the Lone Tree Arts Center, Loveland Museum, and Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum. His drawings have been featured in The Best of Drawing, Western Art Collector, and Art & Color 365 magazines.
